On 8 July 2026, the Sentinel-2 satellite looked down on the Talatan Solar Park on Qinghai's high desert plateau, near the Yellow River reservoir at Longyangxia. Three concentric heliostat mirror fields — a solar-thermal design that focuses sunlight onto a central tower — sit like giant rings beside rows of conventional panels, with the turquoise reservoir framing the scene on the right.
