On 10 October 2026, Sentinel-2 looked down on the Bosphorus, the winding strait that cuts through Istanbul and divides Europe from Asia. About 31 kilometres long and as narrow as 700 metres in places, it links the Black Sea at the top of the frame to the Sea of Marmara below. Three suspension bridges, opened in 1973, 1988 and 2016, now join the two shores. This map edition outlines the water in gold over the satellite image and marks the bridges.
