On 23 July 2026, Sentinel-2 looked down on the coast of Mucuri, in the far south of Bahia, where the Mucuri River meets the Atlantic. Loggerhead sea turtles come ashore to nest on these beaches from September to March, and the municipality monitors nests along its whole coastline, from the Espírito Santo border north to Nova Viçosa. This map edition marks that nesting coast with a gold line just offshore, from border to border. No. 1 in the series Where the Turtles Meet.
